The CUI Wah Campus SAFE-RH (Sensing, Artificial Intelligence, and Edge Networking Rural Health Monitoring) team participated in the final plenary meeting of the Erasmus+ funded SAFE-RH project, held at the University of the West of Scotland, UK, from July 29, 2024, to August 1, 2024. This crucial gathering brought together experts and researchers to present and discuss advancements in maternal and fetus health monitoring technologies.
The team from Department of Computer Science, CUI Wah Campus comprised the following members: Prof. Dr. Ehsan Ullah Munir, Dr. Tassawar Iqbal, Dr. Saima Gulzar Ahmad, Dr. Kashif Ayyub, Mr. Muhammad Ali Arif, Mr. Ahmad Hassan, and Dr. Jawwad Ahmad from Administration.
Prof. Dr. Naeem Ramzan welcomed all the participants and initiated the meeting with an introduction session. Prof. Ehsan presented the overall progress of the Maternal and Fetus health monitoring pilot, followed by Dr. Tassawar Iqbal, who presented the pilot deliverable from the CUI team. Dr. Saima Gulzar alongside Mr. Muhammad Ali Arif presented the Fetus Movement Belt and Fetus Heart Rate Doppler for remote monitoring and its manuals. Dr. Kashif Ayub presented the Mobile Appl and its manuals. The presentation of each component of the pilot were followed by a discussion on optimization and future work directions. Prof. Dr. Naeem Ramzan after deliberation and comments appreciated the work done by CUI Wah team.
Consul General, Summar Javed, and Principle and Vice-Chancellor, James Miller also graced the event with their presence to vet the SAFE-RH presentation and demonstrations. They appreciated the efforts of all partner universities for remote health sensing under umbrella of SAFE-RH project.
The plenary meeting marked a significant milestone for the SAFE-RH project, demonstrating the commitment and collaborative efforts of the CUI Wah Campus team in advancing healthcare solutions. Their participation underscores their dedication to improving health outcomes through technological innovation.
